Join the State & Local Affairs Committee of FCDC for a forum exploring the issues facing urban and rural communities, and learn how Democrats can successfully organize in these communities to build power.

Confirmed speakers include:
– Delegate Vivian Watts (D-39)
– Delegate Josh Cole (D-28)
– Jennifer Kitchen (Candidate for House District 25)
– Julienne D. Hensley (Vice Chair of the DPVA Rural Caucus)

This panel will focus on:
– The current major issues facing rural Virginians (and how they may differ or overlap with major urban/suburban issues).
– How to create inclusive policies (that benefit both urban and rural communities).
– How urban, suburban, and rural Democrats can work together to pass legislation and set winning policy agendas.
– The experiences of rural communities of color and how racial justice intersects with rural issues.
– How Democrats in Fairfax County can support urban-rural coalitions.

The forum will be moderated by Eliza Diliberti and Rebecca Thompson. Submit questions ahead of time by emailing info@fairfaxdemocrats.org with “Urban/Rural Forum” in the subject line.
