Mark Itzkoff

Fellow Fairfax Democrats, I am running for FCDC Vice Chair, South. I appreciate you taking the time to read this brief statement and I ask for your vote next Tuesday night.

I have been an active member of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee for 5 years. During that time, I have been involved in all the same activities that all of you have, door knocking, phone banking, and fund raising. I have twice been elected Vice Chair of the Springfield District Democratic Committee and currently serve as Vice Chair for Party Development. In addition I have headed the Springfield Smoke ‘n Roast, coordinated our precinct letters, and was Acting Chair of SDDC for part of the 2006-2007 term. As Acting Chair, I was part of the FCDC Steering Committee and have experience with day-to-day issues associated with running one of the largest political organizations in the Commonwealth. If you have ever been to a Smoke ‘n Roast, you may remember me as “Shotgun” Dick Cheney or John McCain in the dunk tank.
In addition to my work with SDDC, I am a member of the FCDC Election Protection Task Force. At the request of the State Affairs Committee, I recently started the NoMoHugo blog (www.nomohugo.com) dedicated to revealing the shortcomings of one of our least-favorite delegates.
Mark ItzkoffI am running for Vice Chair, South to help the Mt. Vernon, Lee and Springfield Districts as well as all of FCDC continue the amazing gains that we have made over the past 5 years. In addition to the other responsibilities of the Vice Chair, I will promote greater interaction between the 3 Magesterial Districts of FCDC South, I will work to bring better coordination between the Magisterial Districts and the individual campaigns, and I will do everything I can so that in November, we turn Fairfax blue, Fairfax turns Virginia Blue, and Virginia turns the USA blue.
Thank you.
By the way, in the picture, I’m the guy on the left. Some people say I’ve always been on the left.
