FAIRFAX DEMOCRATS CHAIR SUE LANGLEY CONGRATULATES NOMINEES, VOWS TO TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE REPUBLICANS

Yesterday Democratic voters turned out in record numbers across the Commonwealth of Virginia to select Ralph Northam as the Democratic nominee for Governor and Justin Fairfax as the nominee for Lieutenant Governor.  Here in Fairfax County, for the House of Delegates, the voters nominated Kathy Tran to fill the seat of retiring Delegate Dave Albo, and Karrie Delaney to take on Republican Delegate James LeMunyon in November.  Donte Tanner, who faced no opposition in the primary, will take on Republican Delegate Timothy Hugo.
Fairfax County Democratic Committee Chair Sue Langley heralded the turnout saying, “Never before has there been such a turnout for a gubernatorial primary.  It demonstrates the energy and determination of voters to turn this country around and continue the great work of the McAuliffe administration here in Virginia.”
Regarding the House of Delegates races, Langley said, “While Governor McAuliffe accomplished a lot, there is so much more that could have been done had he not faced the obstructionism of the Republican-controlled House of Delegates.  The three Republican Delegates from Fairfax County have played an instrumental role in that obstructionism by enabling the extreme agenda of the Republican caucus in Richmond.  We are determined to elect Tran, Delaney, and Tanner to put an end to the obstruction and move Virginia forward.”
