The first of two Attorney General debates is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5 on WJLA-TV, channel 7, and live-streamed; time TBD. The two Democratic candidates for attorney general – Jay Jones and Mark Herring – will participate in the debate.

DPVA ANNOUNCES UPCOMING
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR AND ATTORNEY GENERAL DEBATES

Richmond, VA — In addition to three upcoming gubernatorial debates, the Democratic Party of Virginia has organized and planned three debates for the Democratic candidates running for lieutenant governor and attorney general. With an unprecedented number of Democrats running for statewide office, these debates will be a vital way for voters to make informed choices ahead of the June 8 primary. Meanwhile, there are still no public debates scheduled for any Republican statewide race.

Candidates for lieutenant governor will participate in a debate on May 25 hosted by WJLA at George Mason University. The six candidates participating are:

  • Hala Ayala
  • Mark Levine
  • Andria McClellan
  • Sean Perryman
  • Sam Rasoul
  • Xavier Warren

The two candidates for attorney general – Jay Jones and Mark Herringwill participate in a debate on May 5 hosted by WJLA and a debate on May 15 hosted by WTVR. All three debates will be broadcast across the commonwealth in addition to being streamed online.
