Special guest speaker is Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16)! Congresswomen Escobar – who had the honor of nominating Representative Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) for Speaker of the House – made history as the first woman elected to represent El Paso, and the first of two Latinas from Texas to serve in Congress! A rising leader in the Democratic party, Congresswoman Escobar was elected as one of three co-chairs of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC). As Co-Chair of DPCC, she is the only Texan in leadership in both the House and the Senate and in both parties.
