How to vote in the endorsement

At the start of voting, voters who pre-registered and provided an email address and phone number will receive messages with their unique ballot links. These links are unique to each voter and should not be shared.

If you did not provide both an email address and phone number at registration, you will need to vote in-person from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, August 10 at the Herndon Fortnightly Library.

To vote electronically:

  1. Click on the link in the email or text message to access your ballot.
    • The email will come from “Fairfax County Democratic Committee” <invitations@mail.electionbuddy.com> with subject “Vote now: Fairfax County Democratic Committee – 2024 Town of Herndon Mayor Caucus”
    • The text message will begin with “Fairfax Dems: New ballot notification. Vote here” followed by your link to vote

  2. After the ballot loads, press anywhere on the line with the candidate of your choice to select it.

  3. Review your choice and click “<< Edit” if you would like to change your selection, or “Submit >>” to cast your ballot.

  4. Your vote is submitted when you have reached the “Thank you!” confirmation screen.

Kelvin Garcia
Kelvin Garcia currently serves as a Hearing Examiner at the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles since January 2024. In this role, he conducts administrative hearings related to pedestrian, parking, and minor moving violations, including those issued by photo enforcement technology. He also handles serious traffic offenses such as DWI, and DUI,. Kelvin ensures hearings are conducted impartially, evaluates evidence, and applies relevant laws, producing legally sound hearing records.

 
Michael Lloyd
Retired after a four decade career carrying out financial and operations in the private sector, I’ve devoted the last few years to volunteer work in the Town of Herndon and in economically disadvantaged communities in southern West Virginia. Town of Herndon resident to fourteen years. Serving on Herndon’s Town Council allows me to apply my experience in the oversight and operation of multi-billion dollar enterprises and my desire to serve people and communities in need, to matters vital to the Town and it’s citizens without distractions or agendas other than what is best for my community.

Keven  LeBlanc
Keven LeBlanc, candidate for Herndon Mayor, combined experience in serving the town through Council, Event and Community Building, Nonprofit and small Business counseling. Keven also brings unparalleled leadership through decades of C-level business management and acting as a trusted advisor at Federal levels in Veteran care, Health, and IRS as well as working regionally with Committee for Dulles, the Dulles Chamber, and State legislature. Keven is a servant-leader, providing deep inclusive service to Herndon as our first LGBTQ+ elected while focused on economic development, balanced growth, and maintaining low taxes with a strong fiscal position.

Pre-registration: All qualified participants who are not FCDC members must pre-register between 10 am on Wednesday, July 10 to midnight on Friday, July 26.

Ballot voting: Following the registration of all candidates, ballots will be open electronically from  10 am on Monday, August 5 to 4:30 pm on Saturday, August 10. In-person ballots will be held at a location TBD from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, August 10. All those in line at 4 pm will be able to participate. The location of in-person ballots will be announced no later than Friday, July 26.

At the time of the filing deadline, if the number of candidates is equal to or less than the number of available positions in all contests, those candidates will be endorsed, and the caucus is canceled.
