OBAMA'S PICK: JOE BIDEN

Early this morning, Sen. Barack Obama announced that he had chosen Sen. Joe Biden to be his Vice Presidential running mate.
In 2005, I attended the Democratic Party Jefferson-Jackson Dinner where I saw Joe Biden give one of the best speeches I have ever seen given at a Democratic Party event. His focus was to pull back to curtain and make clear to everyone that the Bush Administration’s leading “Neocon” thinkers (at the time Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, etc.) had one objective – neutering the federal government in the domestic sphere. He pointed out that the taking down Social Security was their crown jewel and he cited to book after book that had been written about this that he had read. You can read a description of his speech on Raising Kaine by clicking here.
I walked out of that room a huge Joe Biden fan. Previously, I had no idea he was so thoughtful or articulate. He will be an asset to this campaign and we welcome his leadership in this fight for our country.
