Fairfax Young Democrats

An important community partner of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee is the Fairfax Young Democrats (known as FYDs). This organization is affiliated with the Virginia Young Democrats and the Young Democrats of America. Membership is open to those ages 13 to 35, and associate memberships available for those who are “young at heart”. The FYDs appoint a representative who serves on the FCDC Steering Committee. Many FYDs are active in both FCDC and FYD organizations. FYDs provides a great opportunity for young people to become involved in Fairfax County political and civic activities. George Mason Democrats

The George Mason Democrats are a recognized student organization on George Mason’s Fairfax campus. We are involved in national, state, and local campaigns and work to promote and aid progressive causes. The George Mason Democrats are chartered with the Young Democrats of America.

We welcome anyone to our meetings and we have no formal process to become a member.  Under our bylaws, a voting member is someone who attends GMU, has a GPA of 2.0 or higher (school policy), has attended at least two meetings, and has attended one type of club activity.  The best way to become a member is to stop by one of our meetings or contact us on Facebook with any questions you might have.
